Becoming Trauma Informed in Education

When: October 14, 9:00am-3:30pm

Where: United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley, 455 Bliler Avenue NE, Salem, OR 97301

What: This training addresses the foundations of becoming trauma informed, the prevalence of trauma, and how to promote resiliency. Participants will learn about how the brain is impacted by traumatic events and how changes in the brain can impact how we learn and perceive the world.

School districts all across the valley are working to incorporate a trauma-informed perspective in their practices to enhance the educational experience for children. This training reviews how traumatic stress impacts children and adolescents’ daily functioning and how modifying educational practices help empower students to self-identify triggers and work to manage their behavior.

Cost: $150, seats are limited to 30 per workshop.

EDUCATORS: This training meets PD Standards for Resources, Learning Designs, Implementation and Outcomes.
