July 10, 2014: Adverse Childhood Experiences and Trauma Strategy Session with Laura Porter – Sponsored by Oregon Health Authority Addiction and Mental Health Division (AMH)
An educational and productive day-long meeting lead by Laura Porter of ACE Interface, LLC. Members from OHA Addiction and Mental Health Division, OHA Child Health Division, OHA Public Health Division, Oregon Pediatric Society, Oregon Youth Authority, Early Learning Hubs, Oregon Health and Science University, and Portland State University were present. Discussion moved beyond identifying gaps and concerns to brainstorming next steps and strategies for “braiding” resources. Also identified current strengths. The amount of interest and motivation to make Oregon trauma informed and reduce the risk of early life adverse experiences was inspiring.
