I had the pleasure to meet with Dr. Diane Kaufman recently who is a certified pediatrician and psychiatrist as well as a poet and author now residing in Oregon. She works to combine all of these skills to promote healing for survivors of trauma. She has authored the story, Bird That Wants to Fly, which has inspired a children’s opera and an audiobook narrated by the actor, Danny Glover. You might find this a resource for reading and sharing with survivors or offering it as a performance in schools and communities.
