Trauma Informed Oregon (TIO) celebrated 5 years as a statewide collaborative in October 2019. We hosted a statewide conference in Sunriver, Oregon to honor all of the work providers, individuals, and communities in Oregon have done to address adverse childhood experiences through the implementation of trauma informed care.
Our goal for the conference was to share what is happening, connect with each other, and identify ideas for moving Oregon forward.
Thank You From Mandy Davis, Director, TIO:
So much gratitude! I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for participating in this gathering. The amount of amazing work that is happening to reduce adversity and promote resilience at the organizational and system level is encouraging and motivating. I said as we opened the conference that one of my hopes was that those doing this rewarding but challenging work would leave feeling a bit more connected, inspired, and supported. I know this happened for me as you shared how this work connects to all ages, across multiple systems from public health to natural resources, from policy to practice, and across regions and Tribes. I hope you also experienced this. The energy of this gathering I still carry – from the work in presentations, co-creating in large groups, I am M.O.R.E. performance, our panelists who are working to heal through practice and policy, and through the conversations. I want us to continue to connect these efforts because it will take all of us to work toward the vision created. Please keep in touch – we want to learn and share from you and we want to hear your thoughts on continuing to move this work forward.
