square bulletImplementation, Training & Education Updates September/October 2017

September 26, 2017

From Ana Hristić, MA, MSW, CSWA, Training and Education Coordinator, Trauma Informed Oregon

I am excited about the online launch of Trauma Informed Oregon’s (TIO) Discussion Forum, especially as it pertains to training and education! I believe there is a wealth of expertise in the community related to strategies that promote ongoing learning and engagement. As we know, learning can happen in many different arenas through different modalities, so I welcome the online Discussion Forum as yet another tool for sharing knowledge and experience. I’m looking forward to connecting with you in this way. Give it a try!

You’ll find that there are already some Topics in the Training and Education Forum. I encourage you to check them out and see what you can contribute. For example, what creative ways have you used to generate buy-in at a meeting or training? You may also find that creating a Topic of your own is much more fitting, and thus you’d like to start a new Topic with a question or by sharing a particular experience. The Discussion Forum is a way to dialogue and build community with individuals and groups all around the state who are engaging in building trauma informed organizations. Such a rich opportunity!

You may be interested in checking out other Topics as well (like Workforce Wellness) because none of our work lives in a silo. For example, though you might be really interested in learning more about training, it may be of benefit to chime in on some Buy-In and Sustained Momentum Topics. I look forward to learning with and from you!
